PRANCE metalwork is a leading manufacturer of metal ceiling and facade systems.
Aluminum curtain walls in coastal cities such as Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Doha require proactive maintenance to counteract salt deposition, sand abrasion and UV exposure. Routine cleaning is the first line of defense: scheduled wash cycles remove salt and sand that can accelerate finish degradation and scratch glass surfaces. Use soft brushes and approved detergents to avoid damaging PVDF or anodized coatings. Inspect perimeter sealants and exterior gaskets annually and after major storms; salt and temperature cycles can accelerate sealant aging, so timely replacement prevents water ingress and air leakage. For extruded aluminum with PVDF finishes, periodic inspection for chalking or color fade will determine if early remedial touch-ups are needed; anodized finishes require less frequent intervention but should still be inspected. Check drainage weep paths and pressure-equalization cavities for debris from sandstorms and clear as needed. Mechanical anchorage points and façade access systems should be inspected for corrosion or movement; where marine exposure is severe, stainless steel fasteners with marine-grade coatings are recommended. For long-term performance, maintain documentation of inspections, repairs and component replacements. As a curtain wall specialist, we provide maintenance manuals tailored to Gulf climates, schedule-based service plans and spare-part kits (gaskets, fasteners, sealant) to keep façade performance consistent over decades.
