PRANCE metalwork is a leading manufacturer of metal ceiling and facade systems.
The Mandalay Government Building open-cell ceiling project was carried out in Mandalay, Myanmar, covering an area of approximately 1,000 square meters. The goal was to install a new open-cell ceiling system that could integrate seamlessly with the existing ceiling structure, meeting both functional and aesthetic requirements of a local government office building.

Before proceeding with the project, we carefully reviewed the client's specific needs and the unique challenges posed by the existing conditions. Several key factors influenced our approach to ensure the successful delivery and installation of the open-cell ceiling system:
The new open-cell ceiling panels needed to match the red color and dimensions of the original ceiling to maintain a consistent appearance.
The Mandalay government building' s existing ceiling was made of gypsum board, requiring specially designed suspension fittings to ensure safe and secure installation of the aluminum open cell ceiling.
Due to a shortage of local installation workers, the customer required that each grid ceiling panel be pre-assembled at our factory before shipment. The dimensions of each panel after assembly are 2m x 2m, as we must fully consider its larger size in our packaging and container loading strategy to protect the goods and space utilization.
Designed suspension fittings specifically for gypsum board ceilings, taking into account load-bearing capacity and fixing methods. The fittings are made from corrosion-resistant materials to ensure durability and long-term stability.
We carefully measured and verified the dimensions against the existing ceiling, maintaining close communication with the client to confirm accuracy. Samples of the open-cell panels were sent promptly for their approval to ensure consistent finish and color matching.
Each open-cell ceiling panel was fully assembled in the factory according to the required size. Particular attention was paid to secure joints and panel alignment to avoid deformation during transport.
The assembled open cell ceilings were packaged with pearl cotton to prevent scratches, and wrapped with bubble film for extra protection. Container layout was carefully planned to secure each frame in position, minimizing movement during transport and optimizing space.
We also provided the client with detailed installation instructions and diagrams to support the local team in completing the final installation on site.
The open structure allows seamless integration and concealment of HVAC ducts, fire safety systems, and lighting wiring. This makes maintenance straightforward without the need to damage or dismantle the ceiling.
Open-cell grids promote natural airflow throughout the space, enhancing ventilation and contributing to a healthier indoor environment.
Modular design enables fast and efficient installation using standardized panels, making it especially suitable for large-scale projects where time and labor optimization are critical.
Individual panels can be easily removed and replaced when damaged, minimizing downtime and reducing overall maintenance costs.
