The ceiling design needed to be sleek and tidy, effectively concealing mechanical and electrical equipment typically visible through conventional baffle ceilings.
A key requirement was to prevent small birds from accessing the space behind the baffles, which could cause hygiene and safety issues.
Given the high foot traffic typical of commercial corridors, the ceiling system had to contribute to sound absorption and noise control to improve the auditory environment.
The design needed to integrate multiple maintenance access points to facilitate easy servicing of behind-ceiling equipment without disrupting the entire ceiling.
The project employed a Profile Baffle Ceiling system, carefully selected for its ability to deliver a modern, linear, and visually appealing ceiling. To enhance the spatial warmth and sophistication, the baffle surfaces were treated with a high-quality wood grain finish. This not only elevated the commercial aesthetic but also provided a durable surface capable of withstanding frequent cleaning and wear.
Between the baffles, custom-designed perforated cover plates were installed. These plates served multiple important functions:
They effectively hid the unsightly mechanical and electrical systems located behind the ceiling, producing a cleaner and more professional appearance.
The perforations allowed airflow and sound absorption while blocking birds from entering the ceiling void, maintaining a hygienic and safe environment.
The perforated nature of the cover plates contributed to sound absorption, helping to reduce echo and ambient noise within the mall corridor.
To support maintenance needs, the ceiling system was designed with 71 pre-installed 500×500mm access panels, allowing convenient access to equipment behind the ceiling while maintaining a clean and cohesive appearance.
All ceiling products were fabricated off-site under strict quality controls. This modular approach ensured:
Prefabrication reduced on-site assembly time, minimizing disruption to mall operations and helping maintain a safe working environment.
Modular units lowered labor costs and improved construction speed without compromising quality.
